The second USA-RUSSIA Workshop was held on 12 to 20 May 2018. The format of the symposium was a mix of formal presentations and panel discussions on selected primary topics. The lecturers were as given the option to lecture in their own language.

The slides would have to contain both languages, in as much as possible. A bilingual person would be on hand to answer difficult translation problems, as required, but no expensive official translation process would be set up.

Each side would select 10 official delegates. On the Russian side, attendance at the lectures would not be limited to the official delegates but rather open to the broad geo-engineering public.

The American delegation would be responsible for airfare and lodging while the Russian delegation would be responsible for local transportation, meals, technical visits, sightseeing, and entertainment.

The distribution and breadth of the delegates will be extensive. The target number of American delegates is 10 participants. Academicians and researchers would cover the latest advances in design and analysis approaches, which have great potential for improving future practice. Special effort will be placed on including young participants. This distribution will be sought, but it will be influenced by who actually applies and is able to attend.
